Rex Norris, Head Coach
Coaching Position: Offensive Line / Defensive Line
Degree: Masters College: Arizona State University
Coach Norris teaches AP Psychology at KW.
A Texas Native, Coach Norris is in his 19th year as a coach and 16th here at Kentwood High School. He received much of his experience at Arizona State where he worked for the football program and received his Bachelors’ Degree.
His Kentwood high school football career began here under Washington Hall of Fame Coach Tom Ingles. He worked with Coach Ingles from 1995 to 2000 serving as defensive coordinator and made runs to the
State Finals in 1999 and Semifinals in 2000. In 2001-2002 he went to Highland Park HS in Texas and they went to the Texas 4A Quarterfinals and Semifinals.
Coach Norris is in his 8th season as head coach for the Conks and has compiled a 54-21 record. He has led the Conks to 7 straight Claude French Trophies and 7 straight trips to the playoffs.
He is thankful for his wife Nathalie, he could not do this without her support. Nathalie and Rex met in France in 1998 and were married in 2000. They are the proud parents of 8 year old Elise Anne Norris.
She is a Conk Mascot and is cute as a button!
Kurt Phelps, Associate Head Coach
Coaching Position: Running Backs/Defensive Backs
28 years of experience, all with the Conks. Coach Phelps received his BA in English and his Masters in Education from Western Washington University in Bellingham. He teaches English, Leadership & Physical Education at Kentwood.

Melvin Wells, Offensive Coordinator
Coaching Position: Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs
12th year coaching at Kentwood. Coach Wells spent 6 years at Lindberg High School, the last three of those years as Head Coach. He earned his BS in Education at the University of Wyoming and teaches 4th grade at Scenic Hill Elementary.

Robert Stepan
Coaching Position: Varsity Offensive/Defensive Line
5th year coaching at Kentwood. He has 20 years experience including 9 years at Juanita HS and 6 years at Issaquah HS. He earned his BS at Washington State University and BA in Education at Central Washington University. He teaches Physical Education and Health Education at Kentwood.

Raymond Bonnell
Coaching Position: Outside Linebackers/Tight Ends
4th year coaching at Kentwood. He has 7 years of coaching experience including two years in Austria and two years at Puyallup HS. He earned his BA in History at Washington State University and Masters in Teaching at City University. He teaches English and Social Studies at Mattson Middle School.

Ed Kramer, Special Teams Coordinator
Coaching Position: Middle Linebackers/Quarterbacks
26 years of coaching experience. Coach Kramer earned his BS from Washington State University and his Masters from Seattle Pacific University. He teaches Math at Kentwood.

Jason Wisor, Varsity Assistant Coach/Freshmen Offensive Coordinator
Coach Wisor is a Washington State University graduate in his 7th year of teaching Social Studies at Kentwood. He graduated from Shadle Park HS and coached two seasons of football and baseball there before coming to Kentwood. This is his 7th year coaching football and 2nd year as freshmen offensive coordinator.
John Anderson, JV Head Coach
Coaching Position: Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs
14th year coaching, 8th year coaching at Kentwood. He spent 4 years coaching at Cedar Heights Middle School , three of those as head coach. He earned his BA in Social Studies at Central Washington University in 2000 and Masters in 2005. Coach Anderson teaches History at Kentwood.

6th year coaching at Kentwood. Spent 6 years coaching at Cedar Heights Middle School. Earned his BA in Business from Washington State University.
